Professor Yasuhiro SUZUKI

Associate Professor Department of Complex Systems Science,

Chairman of Special Interest Group of Natural Computing,

Japanese Society of Artificial Intelligence

School of Informatics, Nagoya University

Dr Suzuki is an Associate Professor of Graduate School of Informatics, Nagoya University Japan (2005-), lecturer of School of Design and Architecture, Nagoya City University (2005-). He obtained a Doctoral degree of Informatics from Kyoto University in 2001. He is also the President of Tactileology Society and Association Japan (2018-), and representative of the Japanese Society of Artificial Intelligence (2018-).

He proposed an intuitive mathematical model, ARMS and have used it in the introductory course of mathematical modelling for undergraduate students. In this lecture, students asked to find and describe the phenomenon in nature or society and create their mathematical model from scratch and can expand scientific creativity.

He has also proposed Tactile Score, a method of describing tactile sense and communications by using sensitivity. He found a novel academic field, Tactileology with Tactile Score; which covers IoT, Education, Medical Science (Dementia, Alzheimer) and so on. Tactile Score has been applied to a lecture in Art school (Nagoya City University, School of Design and Architecture) where students learn the Tactile Score and by creating multi-modal artworks based on tactile sense. Tactile Score is also applied to education for Deaf-Blind people.
